Fungicides are chemical compounds or biological organisms used to kill or inhibit fungi or fungal spores. Carbendazim is an approved fungicide for use in a variety of crops such as citrus fruits in many countries except the United States. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) does not approve carbendazim for use as a fungicide on oranges, and has established zero tolerance for the presence of carbendazim in orange juice. Thus, under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, carbendazim is an unlawful pesticide chemical residue in orange juice - hence the need for us to help you understand how to detect and determine the concentration of carbendazim in your orange juice!
